Over 750,000 teens become pregnant in the United States each year. When teenagers choose to parent, many lose the support of their family and friends. Many drop out of school and depend upon welfare and other assistance programs. Their choices in life seem to be few and they can become depressed and hopeless.
Fristers addresses the needs of young moms, ages 13-25, and offers them hope for their future. Fristers empowers young moms for life through a weekly program, sharing education, community resources, tools and real life stories to build them up and equip them to be self-sufficient women and moms.
The Fristers mission is lived out through Christian women volunteers. Some of the serving opportunities include providing transportation for a mom and child who could not otherwise attend the meetings, bringing in dinner or dessert for the group, helping in childcare, or serving as a table leader or meeting facilitator.
