We've been spending the past several weeks looking at our values as a church. We've seen that these should not just be the values of Friends Church, these should be the values of each of us individually, as these are the calls that God places on our lives as Christians. We've also seen how each of these is radically different from what the world calls us to do. Which means that if we are to live these out, there is a certain amount of courage that is needed. We need to be fearless - often times shunning the priorities of the world to follow God with everything inside of us.
That's why in our current sermon series, we're going to be studying some heroes of the faith in the Old Testament who displayed just that - a fearless determination to follow God with everything inside of them. They stood up boldly for their God and for His values and principles, often in the face of extreme opposition. They did this because they believed wholeheartedly in their God, and knew that His way was the only way that mattered. As we study these heroes of the faith, we will be challenged, inspired, and encouraged to be fearless for our God as well - serving Him and stepping out for HIm with everything we've got.
